Download Festival is the UK’s number one rock and metal festival, consistently showcasing the scene’s very best artists at its iconic Donington Park site each June.
From hard hitting rock music line-ups to heavy metal clangers, Download Festival has much more than just music to keep the crowd entertained. Switch from thrashing to laughing at the Side Splitter Stage hosting a rich line-up of comedy, or explore the Circus of Horrors including everything from sword swallowers, acrobatics and circus acts.
Download festival was first founded in 2003 and it has hosted such acclaimed music legends and bands such as Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Audio Slave, Linkin Park, Metallica, Black Sabbath, AC DC, Rage Against The Machine, KISS, Slipknot and The Prodigy. It has since grown to establish itself the UK’s top and internationally acclaimed rock and heavy metal music festival.
Download Festival 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Ticket-holders have the option to roll their ticket over to the 2021 edition. You can read the festival’s statement here
Download Festival offers 3 or 5 nights camping tickets and entry to all 3 days of the festival. You can choose to camp in the main camping areas, or if you prefer to take a breather come the witching hour, then the Quiet Camping area has a noise curfew at midnight. If you are an environmentally friendly rocker then the Eco camp is the place for you. All you need is basic camping gear, like a tent, a camping pad and a head torch (so useful in the night).

Donington Park is pretty much attached to the west side of East Midlands Airport, so it’s a walkable distance, though a taxi would be quicker.
