Graspop Metal Meeting returns to Dessel, Belgium, ready to unleash another monumental celebration of hard rock and heavy metal. Renowned across Europe for its uncompromising line-ups, colossal stages and fiercely devoted audience, Graspop is where metalheads from every corner of the world gather to raise their horns, discover new bands and celebrate the music they love at full volume.

Since its first edition in 1996, Graspop has grown from a local hard-rock event into one of the continent’s defining metal festivals. Its programme embraces the full spectrum of heavy music, from classic and melodic metal to thrash, black metal, death metal, hardcore, punk, metalcore and modern alternative sounds. The festival’s history includes appearances from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Megadeth, Whitesnake, Volbeat, Deftones and Avenged Sevenfold, alongside countless cult heroes and breakthrough acts.

The official 2027 line-up has not yet been announced. Previous editions have demonstrated the festival’s ability to combine revered legends, contemporary festival headliners and exciting underground names across multiple stages. The new programme is expected to maintain that wide-ranging approach, but no artists should be considered confirmed until the official announcement arrives.

The festival grounds along Stenehei in Dessel become a temporary metal city, with powerful sound systems, huge outdoor stages, covered performance spaces and late-night areas keeping the energy alive long after dark. Beyond the concerts, visitors can explore the Festival Fair and Metal Market for vinyl, clothing, handmade jewellery, band merchandise and rare finds. Dido’s Den traditionally adds tattooing, piercing, barbers and relaxation services to the experience.

Food stalls offer hearty festival favourites, international dishes and vegetarian options, while bars and communal spaces give fans a chance to regroup between the riffs. Camping is an essential part of the Graspop ritual, with options that have previously included the Boneyard, Metal Town, Inferno and upgraded Metal Park accommodation. Dessel is accessible by car and organised festival transport, with travel information, parking arrangements and shuttle services usually released ahead of the event. Visitors travelling from abroad should arrange accommodation and transport early, as the most popular options tend to fill quickly.
