Shapes Festival Leysin
16 Mar 2026 - 22 Mar 2026
Shapes Festival Leysin 2026 brings a week of underground club culture to the Vaud Alps, turning a sunny Swiss ski resort into a high-altitude party playground from 16–22 March 2026. Expect a boutique, community feel with big-city curation: day parties on the slopes, golden-hour après takeovers and intimate late-night sessions back in the village — all with views across Lake Geneva to Mont-Blanc.
Born as a roaming celebration of music in unusual locations, Shapes has earned a reputation for eclectic programming that leans into house, disco, broken-beat, global grooves and left-of-centre techno. Recent Leysin editions have welcomed tastemakers like Antal, Tama Sumo, Lakuti, Danilo Plessow, Quantic and Om Unit, giving you a flavour of the crate-digging spirit you can expect in 2026 when the new line-up drops.
The setting is half the thrill. Days unfold across multiple mountain and village spaces — from the Kuklos revolving restaurant at 2,200 m (a 360° glass-walled aerie reborn as a club) to cosy basements like The Underbelly beneath the Alpine Classic Hotel, with pop-up stages connecting summit and streets. Local tourism boards highlight six stages and 30+ artists across a typical week, so there’s always a fresh nook to discover between turns.
Fuel comes easy: long lunches on sun-drenched terraces, Swiss alpine comfort food back in town and lively après bars spilling onto the snow. Accommodation runs from classic hotels to apartments, while the festival’s own packages bundle hotel + festival access + sunset party for hassle-free planning (often the best value if you’re travelling as a pair).
Getting there is pleasantly simple. Fly into Geneva (GVA), ride the mainline train along Lake Geneva to Aigle, then hop the scenic Aigle–Leysin cog railway straight up to Leysin-Feydey — a signature Swiss journey that takes roughly two hours end-to-end and about 25–30 minutes on the mountain train itself. Even Swiss Tourism calls it the region’s sun-terrace ride, and services run frequently.
With its week-long flow, intimate scale and serious diggers behind the decks, Shapes Festival Leysin 2026 is the Alpine escape for music lovers who prefer piste by day and deep selections by night — a soul-warming, ski-laced alternative to the mega-fest, wrapped in Swiss efficiency and big-sky scenery.
