Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) presents a select number of Covid-proof seated concerts and cross-cultural projects taking place throughout Amsterdam, delivering a balanced series of ADE Specials throughout the city, while ensuring public health and government guidelines.

The first confirmed participating venues include Bimhuis, Concertgebouw, Melkweg, Paradiso and Paradiso Noord, with more venues to be announced throughout the coming weeks.

In addition to the live ADE Specials program, ADE presents a virtual celebration of dance music for a global audience of music enthusiasts. As always, ADE centres itself around the global electronic music industry with a program dedicated to offering something exceptional for every type of visitor, covering the whole spectrum of electronic subgenres and showcasing a broad range of artists.

This year’s program features a multitude of content ranging from DJ sets, artist talks, studio tours, masterclasses, artistic cross-overs, a film program and much more. On a brand new and freely accessible platform, ADE offers an immersive experience to discover new music, art, (sub)cultures and much more.

Pieter de Graaf has always pushed himself creatively, and his new five-track EP, Vortex, is the sound of him doing precisely that. Fresh from the success of Fermata, his acclaimed debut album, de Graaf found himself leaning in a new musical direction and experimenting with loops and electronica.

Traditional Persian Percussion Sound that sounds like Experimental Electronic Music. With his hand drums (daf) and a small drum (tombak), Mortazavi creates landscapes of sound in which you as a listener can wander endlessly.

Fusing Jordi’s polished pop and house production with Micha’s deep sonic palette, honed as a member of drum and bass group Black Sun Empire, Tinlicker has created groove-heavy progressive since 2013.

The Mauskovic Dance Band is the brainchild of Nicola Mauskovic- Amsterdam based producer and multi-instrumentalist. Combining elements of Cumbia, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, & Space Disco in equal measure to create a unique hypnotic groove, The Mauskovic Dance Band has become a staple of festival stages and sketchy nightclubs across Europe since 2016.

After a stunning opening concert with Metropole Orkest in 2017, the playful electronics of Jameszoo make a welcome return to Melkweg for a new Special. This year he will be joined on stage by the virtuoso improv duo Niels Broos (keys) & Jamie Peet (drums). Together they’ll take on Jameszoo’s signature computer jazz sound with an exciting freestyle live session.

Californian electronic pop duo Peaking Lights have been making music together since 2008. Already with a string of highly acclaimed albums across their twelve year production history, the husband and wife duo that is Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis have carved out a niche of quirky electronic, and psychedelic pop sounds.

After their successful Strange Days event series last year, Amsterdam-based producer duo Know V.A. is back with a new hybrid live set for an ADE Special in Melkweg. For this one-off, Know V.A. teams up with visual artist Leeza Pritychenko to create an immersive audiovisual live experience.

One of the leading forces behind the VBX label and parties, Jasper Verrijzer a.k.a. Ferro, presents his first-ever ambient project: Veryzer. For this live performance, Veryzer takes his studio setup to Melkweg for an audiovisual performance, where he combines the elements of music, light, and art into an exceptional multi-sensory experience.

Encore has a special program, including a producer workshop, international DJs, and a live show. Expect quality tracks, good vibes, international DJs, and original entertainment and performances. As usual, you´ll hear the entire spectrum of hip-hop and R&B with all its subgenres blasting through the speakers. Hard beats, classic hits, and new tracks.

Cousin (Daan Couzijn) is an Amsterdam-based vocalist and visual artist. His electronic sounds dip into minimalistic trip-hop styles balanced out by catchy pop melodies, experimental key changes, and playful use of his soft vocals.

STOOR live will be a jam between alternating musicians and video artists. What happens next is unknown, except for the fact that a stage packed with analogue machines and experienced users certainly leads to a magical audiovisual trip.
