Defected Malta 2026: House Music Beneath the Mediterranean Sun

Defected Malta 2026 returns for its fifth edition, bringing more than 50 artists to the island for an unforgettable celebration of house music, sunshine and togetherness. Across poolside stages, open-air clubs, historic surroundings and the sparkling Mediterranean, thousands of house fans will unite for a carefully curated journey through soulful grooves, disco energy and late-night dancefloor heat.

The 2026 line-up combines influential pioneers with contemporary favourites and rising selectors. Green Velvet, David Morales, Todd Terry, Kevin Saunderson, Lil’ Louis, Dennis Ferrer, Hot Since 82, Jayda G, Nic Fanciulli, Eliza Rose, Sam Divine, Eats Everything, Low Steppa, Harry Romero, Sidney Charles and The Shapeshifters are among the artists confirmed. Glitterbox, Faith and Soulfuric will also host dedicated takeovers, expanding the programme through disco, vocal house, underground classics and uplifting club sounds.

Café del Mar provides the perfect setting for sun-drenched pool parties, with panoramic sea views accompanying the music from afternoon into sunset. UNO remains the festival’s late-night hub, spreading performances across its Main Room, atmospheric Treehaus and intimate Roots stage. The historic Ditch in Valletta offers another striking open-air environment, while the new Little Armier Beach stage brings Glitterbox to Malta’s northern coastline for barefoot dancing beside the sea.

The festival’s boat parties offer an even more intimate experience, allowing ticket holders to sail around the island while internationally respected DJs provide the soundtrack. A new floating pontoon venue, The Island, adds another distinctive dimension to the programme, creating a limited-capacity dancefloor directly on the Mediterranean. Boat and pontoon experiences require separate tickets and are available exclusively to festival pass holders.

Defected Malta does not offer traditional festival camping, so visitors can choose from Malta’s wide selection of hotels, resorts and apartments. Staying around St Paul’s Bay provides convenient access to Café del Mar, while Valletta and surrounding areas offer history, nightlife and excellent dining. UNO and the main coastal venues are best reached by taxi or app-based transport, with Malta International Airport providing easy connections for overseas travellers.
