Shapes Festival Leysin 2027: Underground Sounds Above the Clouds
Shapes Festival Leysin 2027 returns to the Vaud Alps for an intimate week of underground music, skiing and high-altitude adventure. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, the resort offers sweeping views towards Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, creating a spectacular setting for daytime sessions on the slopes, lively après-ski gatherings and late-night parties in the village.
Founded as a travelling celebration of music in extraordinary locations, Shapes has built its identity around thoughtful programming and close connections between artists and audiences. Rather than chasing large-scale spectacle, the festival focuses on carefully selected sounds, characterful venues and a relaxed community atmosphere. House, disco, jazz, broken beat, soul, global rhythms and left-field electronic music all find a home within its adventurous musical programme.
The developing 2027 line-up already features an impressive collection of selectors and live performers. Sofia Kourtesis, Optimo, Antal, Move D, Kamma & Masalo, JAEL, Ash Lauryn, Marcellus Pittman, K-Lone, Heléna Star and Rebecca Vasmant are among the announced names, alongside regional artists and emerging talent. Further additions are expected, reinforcing the festival’s reputation for pairing internationally respected figures with exciting discoveries.
Shapes unfolds across distinctive mountain and village venues. The revolving Kuklos restaurant becomes a remarkable club at 2,200 metres, offering panoramic Alpine views during the festival’s celebrated Sunset Party. Les Fers provides a snow-covered dancefloor between the pistes, while Bel Air hosts energetic après-ski sessions beside the Leysin-Berneuse cable car. After dark, The Underbelly combines club space, live music, outdoor areas and a comfortable lounge, with Station adding an intimate midweek gathering.
Visitors can spend their days skiing, relaxing in nearby thermal baths or discovering Glacier 3000 before returning to Leysin for local dishes, warming drinks and evening performances. Non-skiers are equally welcome, and festival passes include pedestrian lift access to music venues on the mountain. Ski passes can be added separately according to the number of days required.
Accommodation packages combine a festival pass, the Kuklos Sunset Party, half-board dining and a choice of stays at the Alpine Classic Hotel. Personalised packages may also be arranged for solo travellers and larger groups.
Travelling from Geneva Airport is straightforward: regular trains connect with Aigle, followed by a scenic cog railway journey directly into Leysin. Shapes Festival Leysin 2027 promises an inspiring Alpine escape where adventurous music, mountain scenery and genuine human connection take centre stage.
