VOLT festival is a multi-genre festival in Sopron Hungary. Getting its title from the pop culture magazine of the same name, the festival has been running since 1993.
As one of Sziget’s sibling festivals, VOLT curates an annual lineup consisting of electronic, rock, pop, jazz and urban genres. Previous lineups have included Slipknot, Slash, The Black Eyed Peas, Depeche Mode, Clean Bandit and Hurts.
A four day festival, you can experience fantastic music across several stages, alongside theatre performances, visual art exhibitions, film screenings, sporting events and more.
VOLT Festival 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Purchased tickets remain valid the the 2022 edition. You can read the festival’s statement here

BY TRAIN
The town of Sopron is well connected by rail from Budapest and major European cities.
From Budapest take the train from Kelenfoeld Train Station to Sopron (2 hours journey).
From Vienna take the train from Vienna Hbf Wien Hbf (Vienna Main Train Station) to Sopron (1h 15 min journey).
BY PLANE
The nearest airport is Vienna International Airport (VIE). Upon arrival take take the train to Wien Hbf (Vienna Main Train Station) and then take the train to Sopron (1h 15 min journey).
If you are flying to Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport (BUD) take the 200E Bus to the centre of Budapest and then take the train from Budapest-Kelenföld station direct to Sopron (2 hours journey).
