NOS Alive 2027: Lisbon’s Landmark Waterfront Music Festival

NOS Alive 2027 returns to the Passeio Marítimo de Algés for its 19th edition, bringing another world-class celebration of live music to Lisbon’s spectacular waterfront. With the Tagus River on one side and the energy of the Portuguese capital on the other, the festival combines major international performances, warm summer evenings and an unmistakable sense of freedom.

Launched in 2007, NOS Alive has developed into one of Europe’s most respected music festivals. Its reputation rests on ambitious programming, excellent production and an ability to unite arena-sized headliners with alternative favourites, emerging artists and home-grown Portuguese talent. Rock, indie, pop and electronic music flow across the festival’s stages, creating a varied experience that appeals to several generations of music fans.

Tame Impala is the first major artist confirmed for the 2027 line-up. Known for Kevin Parker’s psychedelic songwriting, immersive visuals and richly layered live sound, the Australian project promises one of the edition’s defining performances on the main NOS Stage. Further headliners and supporting artists are still to be announced, with the complete programme expected to spread across the main arena and NOS Alive’s smaller discovery, comedy and club-focused spaces.

Beyond the performances, the festival grounds offer food courts, bars, brand activations and relaxation areas where visitors can recharge between sets. Portuguese flavours sit alongside international street food, while the waterfront location creates a beautiful setting for sunset drinks before the evening’s biggest shows begin.

NOS Alive does not provide traditional camping directly inside the festival grounds. Visitors can stay in Lisbon, Algés or nearby Oeiras, choosing from hostels, apartments and hotels across a wide range of budgets. Lisboa Camping and Bungalows has also supported festival stays in previous editions, with specific packages and transport arrangements usually announced closer to the event.

Reaching the venue is straightforward. Trains on the Cascais Line connect Cais do Sodré with Algés, while trams and buses provide additional routes from central Lisbon. Special late-night services and festival shuttles have operated during previous editions, helping crowds return after the final performances.

With Tame Impala leading the first announcement, an exceptional riverside location and more artists still to come, NOS Alive 2027 is already shaping up as an essential European festival experience where music, culture and Lisbon’s coastal spirit come vividly alive.
