SuncéBeat New Horizons 2027: Soulful Sounds on Portugal’s Golden Coast

SuncéBeat New Horizons returns to Costa da Caparica, bringing its celebrated mixture of soulful house, disco, funk, soul and R&B back to the golden beaches opposite Lisbon. Centred around Irmão, the festival creates an intimate coastal escape where exceptional music, Atlantic sunshine and a close-knit international community flow together.

SuncéBeat began in 2010 as the summer edition of the legendary Southport Weekender. After building its reputation during 14 years in Tisno, Croatia, the festival opened a new chapter in Portugal in 2024. The New Horizons concept preserves the musical knowledge and family spirit of the original gathering while embracing the relaxed character, natural beauty and vibrant culture of the Lisbon coast.

The official 2027 line-up has not yet been announced, with the first artists expected to be revealed in the coming months. Previous editions have welcomed respected DJs, selectors, vocalists and live performers from across the global house and soul community. Festival-goers can anticipate another carefully curated soundtrack filled with deep house rhythms, uplifting vocals, rare disco, warm funk and sophisticated late-night grooves.

Days begin beside the dunes at Irmão, where dancing takes place only steps from the Atlantic Ocean. The programme continues into the evening before moving to afterparties at Waikiki on Praia da Sereia. SuncéBeat’s much-loved boat parties are also set to return, carrying dancers along the Tagus beneath Lisbon’s famous suspension bridge. Boat-party admission is normally sold separately from the main festival pass.

The experience is deliberately intimate, encouraging genuine interaction between artists and dancers. Beachside dining, sunset drinks and relaxed communal areas complement the music, while Costa da Caparica’s restaurants serve fresh seafood, Portuguese specialities and international choices.

Accommodation is not included on the festival site. Visitors can choose from hotels, apartments, guesthouses and beach accommodation across Costa da Caparica or stay in Lisbon for easier access to the capital’s cultural attractions and nightlife. Local buses, taxis, ride services and ferry connections provide several ways to travel between Lisbon and the coast.
