Free Your Mind Festival 2027 – House and Techno Beside the Rhine
Free Your Mind Festival 2027 returns to the historic Stadsblokken in Arnhem, bringing two days of open-air electronic music to the green banks of the River Rhine. Set beneath the distinctive John Frost Bridge, the festival combines spacious riverside surroundings with powerful production, diverse dancefloors and the collective energy of thousands of house and techno fans.
Founded in 2004, Free Your Mind is one of the Netherlands’ longest-running techno festivals. Its home at Stadsblokken carries particular historical significance, as the area played a role in the Battle of Arnhem during the Second World War. Today, the site has become a place of music and connection, offering views across the river towards the city while retaining an open, slightly untamed character.
The Free Your Mind Festival 2027 line-up has not yet been announced. Visitors can expect the festival’s characteristic blend of house, techno and crossover styles, ranging from warm grooves and melodic soundscapes to hard techno and uncompromising peak-time rhythms. The previous edition featured artists such as Reinier Zonneveld, DIØN, Cynthia Spiering and Kruelty, continuing a booking history that has included Charlotte de Witte, Paul Kalkbrenner, Boris Brejcha, Ben Klock, Joris Voorn, Sven Väth and Chris Stussy.
Multiple stages allow each side of the Free Your Mind sound to develop its own identity. Large outdoor areas deliver high-impact performances with imposing sound systems and visual production, while smaller dancefloors provide space for deeper sets, emerging artists and unexpected musical discoveries. The daylight setting gives the festival a relaxed beginning before the atmosphere intensifies towards the evening.
Food stalls, bars, lockers and relaxation spaces are available across the grounds. Stadsblokken is close to central Arnhem, making the festival accessible by public transport, bicycle or on foot from the city. There is no official festival campsite, but Arnhem provides a broad selection of hotels, hostels, apartments and guesthouses. Visitors must be at least 18 years old and should carry valid identification.
Free Your Mind Festival 2027 promises another weekend of movement and liberation, where underground sounds meet open skies and the banks of the Rhine become one united dancefloor.
