DGTL Festival Amsterdam 2027: Sound, Art and Circular Innovation

DGTL Festival Amsterdam 2027 returns to the iconic NDSM Docklands, transforming the former shipyard into a forward-looking world of electronic music, digital art and sustainable design. Born at this industrial waterfront in 2013, DGTL has developed into an international festival concept while keeping Amsterdam as its creative and spiritual home.

The programme combines daytime celebrations with immersive night sessions, allowing the NDSM site to reveal different personalities throughout the weekend. In daylight, its vast concrete spaces, towering cranes and waterfront views create a striking playground for open-air dancing. After dark, lighting, projections and industrial architecture merge into a more intense audiovisual environment.

The DGTL Amsterdam 2027 line-up has not yet been announced. Visitors can expect the festival’s characteristic balance of influential international artists, emerging talent and exciting local discoveries. Its programming regularly moves between house, techno, disco, trance, IDM and experimental electronic music, with live performances and adventurous DJ sets adding further variety across multiple stages.

Visual creativity remains central to the DGTL experience. Bold stage structures, large-scale installations and collaborations with innovative visual artists reshape the raw NDSM landscape. Rather than serving as decoration alone, technology and art become active parts of each performance, responding to the music and movement of the crowd.

DGTL is equally recognised for its environmental ambitions. After developing a fully circular festival model in 2022, the organisation continues to treat the Amsterdam edition as a testing ground for new approaches to energy, materials, food and waste. Its initiatives include a completely plant-based and organically produced food court, the avoidance of single-use plastics and circular systems that turn discarded materials into valuable resources.

Visitors can reach NDSM using Amsterdam’s free passenger ferries from behind Central Station, followed by a short walk to the festival grounds. Hotels, hostels and apartments are available throughout Amsterdam-Noord and the wider city, while lockers are provided at the venue for personal belongings. Separate lockers may be required for daytime and night-time sessions.

DGTL Festival Amsterdam 2027 promises an inspiring meeting of music, creativity and responsibility—a place where industrial heritage becomes futuristic spectacle and the dancefloor offers a glimpse of what more sustainable festival culture can achieve.
