Bilbao BBK Live 2027: Music Above the City in the Basque Country

Bilbao BBK Live returns to the green slopes of Kobetamendi, where panoramic mountain scenery and the lights of Bilbao create one of Europe’s most atmospheric festival settings. Combining international headliners with adventurous new talent, the festival offers an eclectic journey through rock, indie, pop, electronic music and contemporary alternative sounds.

Founded in 2006, Bilbao BBK Live has developed into a landmark of Spain’s summer festival calendar. Its elevated location provides an escape into nature without losing the energy and cultural attractions of the city below. Spacious stages, woodland paths and spectacular sunsets give the festival a relaxed identity that feels distinctly different from larger urban or arena-based events.

The official 2027 line-up has yet to be announced. The previous edition celebrated the festival’s twentieth anniversary with an extensive programme featuring Calvin Harris, Robbie Williams, David Byrne, FKA twigs, Lily Allen performing West End Girl, IDLES, Interpol, Alabama Shakes, Charlotte de Witte, Richie Hawtin presenting DEX EFX X0X, Soulwax, Belle and Sebastian, CMAT, Dellafuente and La M.O.D.A. These artists are included as historical context and should not be considered confirmed for 2027.

Electronic music traditionally plays an important role at Bilbao BBK Live. The woodland stages Basoa and Lasai create immersive spaces for carefully paced DJ sets, moving from warm afternoon selections into deeper sounds after dark. Elsewhere, major stages deliver powerful live performances while smaller areas showcase emerging Spanish, Basque and international artists.

Food stalls celebrate the region’s celebrated culinary identity alongside international street food, vegetarian dishes and festival favourites. Bilbao itself offers even more to explore, from traditional pintxos bars and riverside restaurants to contemporary art, architecture and nightlife.

Festival camping has traditionally been available at Kobetamendi, while visitors seeking additional comfort can choose from Bilbao’s hotels, hostels and apartments. Shuttle buses normally connect the city with the elevated festival site, although the complete 2027 transport and accommodation arrangements will be confirmed closer to the event.

With its exceptional natural setting, fearless musical curation and unmistakable Basque character, Bilbao BBK Live 2027 promises another inspiring gathering where music, landscape and city culture flow together.
