Roskilde Festival 2027: Music, Art and Community Without Boundaries

Roskilde Festival returns to Denmark with another extraordinary celebration of music, art, activism and community. Built around its iconic Orange Stage and sprawling festival city, Roskilde brings people from across the world together for an experience shaped by musical discovery, creative freedom and the belief that culture can inspire positive change.

Founded in 1971, Roskilde has grown from a small youth-led event into one of Europe’s largest and most influential non-profit festivals. All profits are donated to humanitarian, cultural and environmental causes through the Roskilde Festival Charity Society, giving every performance, meal and shared experience a wider purpose.

The official 2027 music line-up has yet to be announced. Artist listings currently visible on parts of the festival website belong to the previous edition and should not be presented as confirmed for 2027. That edition welcomed Gorillaz, Jennie, The Cure, Zara Larsson, Addison Rae, Ethel Cain, David Byrne, Clipse, Little Simz, Kneecap, Wolf Alice, Lily Allen, Bad Gyal, Brutalismus 3000, Sammy Virji and Sama’ Abdulhadi. This remarkable range reflects the adventurous programming expected from Roskilde, spanning rock, pop, rap, electronic music, metal, global sounds and experimental performance.

The experience begins in the camping areas, where rising Nordic artists, community projects and participant-created activities establish the festival’s playful spirit. As the main concert programme unfolds, stages including Orange, Arena, Avalon, Eos and Gloria welcome international headliners alongside boundary-pushing newcomers and underground discoveries.

Art and activism remain central to Roskilde’s identity. Installations, performances, talks, workshops and social initiatives encourage visitors to explore urgent cultural and political ideas. Food courts add another layer of discovery, offering Danish favourites, global street food and extensive vegetarian and vegan choices.

Camping forms an essential part of the experience, with standard areas, quieter zones and special communities traditionally available. Visitors can reach Roskilde by train from Copenhagen, followed by festival transport or a walk to the grounds. Updated accommodation and travel arrangements will be released closer to the event.
