Boom Festival is a biennial Psychedelic Music festival, held at the idyllic lake-side location of Idanha-a-Nova in Portugal, that celebrates art, music, culture, and sustainable living.
The festival features a wide range of music, including electronic, world, and experimental, as well as live performances. In addition to the music, the festival also features a number of other events and activities that are designed to enhance the psychedelic experience, such as visual arts installations, workshops and lectures.
The festival is attended by people from all over the world and is considered to be one of the premier transformational festivals in Europe.
- Dance Temple showcases Full-On or classic Goa Trance during the day, groovy Full-On and Progressive Psytrance in the afternoon and deeply hypnotic genres like Dark and Forest Psytrance in the night.
- Alchemy Circle is the place to discover fresh sounds, from Dark Progressive, Neo Trance, Psy Breaks and Psy Techno, to Glitch Hop, Psy Bass, Dub and Progressive Techno.
- Sacred Fire has a special theme each night, such as Afro Beat, Psych Rock, Dub, Organic Trance, Brazil or Fusion Sound, with plenty of workshops and conscious food corners.
- Chill out Gardens are fuelled by Chill Out music in all its forms, like Ambient, Electronica and Downbeat grooves, the perfect place for inspired hangouts with old and new friends, and every now and then it even turns into an easy-going dancefloor.
Boom is not only a festival, it is a state of mind, inspired by the principles of oneness, peace, creativity, sustainability, transcendence, alternative culture, active participation, evolution and love. Furthermore, it is a space where people from all over the world can converge to experience an alternative reality.
