Colours of Ostrava 2027: Music and Creativity in the Steel Heart of Czechia

Colours of Ostrava returns to the extraordinary Dolní Vítkovice complex, where towering blast furnaces, steel structures and former industrial halls become the backdrop to one of Central Europe’s most imaginative cultural festivals. This spectacular setting gives every performance a cinematic edge, transforming Ostrava’s industrial heritage into a vibrant world of music, art and discovery.

Founded in 2002, Colours of Ostrava has developed from a regional gathering into an internationally respected multi-genre festival. Its adventurous programming moves effortlessly between rock, pop, electronic music, indie, jazz, soul and global sounds, bringing celebrated performers together with emerging artists and unexpected collaborations. The upcoming event will mark the festival’s 24th edition.

The official 2027 artist line-up has yet to be announced. The previous edition welcomed major names including Twenty One Pilots, Lorde, Moby, Teddy Swims, LP, Skunk Anansie, Audrey Nuna, Atarashii Gakko!, Peaches and Alison Wonderland b2b NobodyListen. This eclectic selection reflects the open-minded musical identity visitors can expect, with international headliners balanced by Czech and Slovak talent, alternative discoveries and performances that cross cultural and stylistic boundaries.

Colours of Ostrava extends far beyond its concert stages. The Meltingpot Forum traditionally brings together inspiring thinkers, writers, scientists, artists and innovators for discussions exploring contemporary culture and society. Theatre, film, workshops, visual installations and interactive experiences create countless opportunities to pause, learn and explore between performances.

Food areas complement the international atmosphere with Czech favourites, global street food, vegetarian and vegan dishes, desserts and locally produced drinks. Relaxation spaces scattered throughout the industrial complex provide quieter corners away from the busiest stages.

Visitors can choose from hotels, apartments, hostels and guesthouses across Ostrava, while festival accommodation announcements should be checked before booking. The Dolní Vítkovice site is well connected to the city centre by public transport, and Ostrava’s main railway stations offer convenient connections with Prague, Brno, Kraków and other Central European cities.

With its fearless programming, monumental surroundings and welcoming international crowd, Colours of Ostrava 2027 promises an unforgettable cultural escape where industrial history meets contemporary creativity and every corner offers something new to discover.
