Camp Bestival Dorset 2027: The Ultimate Family Festival Adventure
Camp Bestival Dorset 2027 returns to the magnificent grounds of Lulworth Castle for four days and nights of music, imagination and family adventure. Created by families for families, this colourful celebration combines the excitement of a major festival with the freedom of a countryside camping holiday, offering entertainment and activities for every generation.
Founded by Rob and Josie da Bank in 2008, Camp Bestival has become one of the United Kingdom’s best-loved family festivals. Each summer, the historic Dorset estate is transformed into an extraordinary playground of stages, circus tents, woodland hideaways and creative activity areas. Its welcoming atmosphere allows parents, children, teenagers and grandparents to share memorable experiences without sacrificing the quality of the music or production.
The official 2027 line-up and festival theme have yet to be announced. Previous editions have welcomed an eclectic collection of pop stars, bands, DJs and family entertainers, including Fatboy Slim, Paloma Faith, McFly, Rick Astley, The Darkness, Confidence Man, Basement Jaxx and The Human League. Visitors can expect another accessible programme spanning pop, indie, electronic music, disco, comedy and live entertainment for younger audiences.
Beyond the main stages, the festival offers theatre, circus performances, craft workshops, science experiments, wellbeing sessions and imaginative play. The Kids’ Gardens provide dedicated spaces for different age groups, while competitions such as Kids Got Talent invite younger visitors to become part of the show. Yoga, meditation, sound baths and movement classes offer quieter moments away from the excitement.
Food is an important part of the Camp Bestival experience, with street-food traders, family-friendly dining, vegetarian and vegan choices, bars and relaxed places to sit together. Free drinking-water points are available throughout the arena and campsites, so bringing a reusable non-glass bottle is recommended.
Accommodation ranges from General Camping and reserved Camping Plus pitches to campervan and caravan spaces. Boutique Camping provides ready-made tents and upgraded facilities, while Backstage and Hospitality Camping offer premium locations, hot showers, luxury toilets and additional comforts. Festival admission must be purchased separately for certain accommodation upgrades.
Lulworth Castle is accessible by road, rail and coach. Wool and Wareham are the nearest railway stations, with taxis providing onward connections. An official carbon-neutral coach service also operates from London Victoria, while drivers should follow event signs rather than satellite navigation near the site.
Camp Bestival Dorset 2027 promises another magical family escape filled with music, laughter, creativity and unforgettable moments beneath the castle sky.
